Glen Andrew, the mountain land that has been home for the Young Men’s Ultimate Weekend, Fathers-Sons-& Brothers, Circles of Men, EBNOM Fall event, Family Camp and MDI Regional Overnighters, will be saved as an affordable site to train our youth and our selves to be better citizens of this world through our efforts.

The Limited Liability Corporation being formed to take over ownership and management of the property will be bound in its incorporation papers to abide by a Mission Statement dedicated to preserving it as Higher Purpose property.

Partnerships in the Glen Andrew LLC may be held by individuals, organizations or non-profit corporations. Each partner agreeing to abide by our Mission Statement will have voting rights in all major decisions concerning the scheduling and operations of Glen Andrew. Each partner will also receive proportional disbursements of any income derived from Glen Andrew’s operations. Funds will be generated through Timber Harvests on a ten year cycle as well as from any use fees over the cost of maintaining this forested retreat and campground.

The community service and non-profit organizations currently using Glen Andrew will continue to be able to use the site on a free or at-cost basis and use fees for corporate, private or for-profit users will be determined by the partners. Those making pledges are invited to advise and consult in the finalizing of our structure.

When we have pledges sufficient to complete the final pay-off for the property we will call on pledge makers to exercise their options after reviewing and agreeing to the guidelines of the LLC and its Mission Statement. We have 12 months to complete this process so spreading the word to any and all teams, organizations and individuals dedicated to training and empowering our youth, building relationships with others and nature, or just having crazy fun in the woods is called for.

Glen Andrew LLC Mission Statement:

Provide a campground and outdoor meeting space in the Santa Cruz Mountains that meets needs not currently met in this area. Provide a venue and facilities for educational events that challenge, seminars that delve into nature, trainings that hone skills, treks exploring self and science, and inspirational recreation.

Arrange and allow access to a Santa Cruz County mountain campground with specific emphasis on meeting those specialized needs of individuals and groups requiring unique characteristics. Developing hiking trails for the blind and routes through the forest for off-road wheel chairs are some of our priorities.

Complement efforts of schools, agencies, foundations, and organizations focused on providing special services for those with special needs. Create environments that allow peers to share experiences so that each does teach while building on the knowledge of those that came before. Foster outdoor adventures that nurture families, strengthens bonds and forges respect of nature, while preserving nature.

Our priority is to serve youth and those that serve youth, support families and those that assist families to succeed and flourish. We seek to help those that promote respect for all living things and are dedicated to stewardship and sustainable harvesting of its bounty.
